Also, the durability of the upper, midsole and outsole are outstanding (almost like a heavy hiking boot). The only trade-off is that they are heavier than other trail shoes I have used in the past few seasons

What's not to like about that? These are a bit heavier than the Selewa Alpine Extremes they're replacing (the Wildfire is the Extreme replacement) and the slightly stiffer soles should protect my feet better from sharp rocks and the like. I like the more aggressive sole tread, and I'm happy to trade the more difficult-to-clean tread for better traction. I'm very happy with these. They arrived quickly, fit well, and I expect years of very solid service
