I would start with the bigger air coolers. I wouldn't get an entry-level air cooler (i.e., a sub-$35 cooler) but some of the coolers in the $50-$60 range would be just fine, like the Scythe Fuma 2 or Arctic Freezer 34 Esports Duo

What CPU cooler do you recommend for the i7 10700k

\- the cooler is a bit weak, get an arctic freezer II 280 or 360 (cheap when you consider the entire system cost) or Scyth FUMA. \- you can get a PCIE ver4 NVME (SAMSUNG 980). \- 7200 RPM 8TB disk would be a much nicer selection. \- You can get a 3080 for a similar price as the 3070ti

New PC Build Part List

I changed from a Corsair H115i Platinum to the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280, and it dropped temps about 10 C across the board for me on my 5800X. Corsair's hardware was fine except for their AM4 mounting mechanism. It had poor mounting pressure and especially poor over the hottest part of the heat spreader. The Arctic cooler has a very good mounting mechanism, it uses screws at each corner and comes with an offset mounting bracket for Ryzen 3000 and 5000 CPUs so it can line up the center of the coldplate with the hottest spot on the CPU heatspreader

Recently got a 5800x and it's running quite hot so I'm thinking about saving up for a liquid cooler and I was looking at the arctic liquid freezer 2, so I'm wondering if I should get the 240mm or 360mm or if there's another good option except ek cause I can't find them in any stores in my country.

Ryzen 7 5800x liquid cooler choice

 At Idle I am running at about 70C, I think, "Jeez, that's super high, but let's go ahead and make sure the monitor isn't crazy or anything." So I start a stress test, and within about 10 seconds I immediately shut it down as my CPU quickly spikes to 90C. I shut my system down and unplug it and bring it back to the bench. Clearly the plate isn't making the kind of contact I want

 These radiators are CHONKY, and the included fans are also quite hefty, so there was no where it was going to fit. No worries, I thought, I'm on board with having an extra good cooler since I just spent $1,000 on these two CPUs ($500 each, tax of buying computer parts during COVID times.), so I ordered a new case for my son, and decided to do my build while we waited for his new case to come in.  I have a full sized tower, and it is absolutely designed to take up to a 420MM AIO, but like I said earlier, these guys are chonky, so I ended up actually having to switch one of the fans for a fan I had lying around to get the radiator to fit with the motherboard in a top mounted configuration

 I shut my system down and unplug it and bring it back to the bench. Clearly the plate isn't making the kind of contact I want.  So I remove the plate, and wow, the thermal paste shows that one side isn't making amazing contact. Well okay, I pull the plate with the bent thread post, and take it to my tool room, get some pliers, and carefully bend it back the few degrees it's off

Materials missing/not well built, support is non-existent.

Ahh, the Arctic Liquid Freezer II, the excellent performing cooler for those who don't give a sh*t about RGB.

My full AMD non rgb Lian Li O11D build.

 Oh and the best of all this cooler does not have LEDs! (LEDs consume energy and produce heat - so having them inside non-transparent case located under the desk is a pure waste).

 The cooler is also very quiet and dynamically adjusts fan speed based on the CPU temperature (load). I installed it in the "intake push" configuration. I have absolutely no complains. It just works - quietly and efficiently

Excellent CPU cooler

 No more thermal throttling when rendering even under 100% load with an overclock.  - Very quiet cooler, not even noticable even at 100% fan speed.  The Bad:  - Mine came with the wrong mounting brackets for the fans. There should be 1 for the larger fan and 1 for the slim fan

  Comparing to the Dark Rock Pro 4 (Assume DRP4 is a baseline 10/10): Build quality: 8/10 Fit and Finish: 5/10 Cooling ability: 9/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 Noise levels: 10/10 Price: 11/10 Included Fans: 10/10 Looks/Style: 8/10 (subjective)  I won't call this a negative, exactly, but I think it is worth mentioning that the fan cables and included fan splitter come with an extremely rigid sheathing on them making them not very flexible compared to a normal fan cable. This can make them hard to tuck up out of the way or route through the case.  TLDR: Great cooler for the price point but could use better quality control. Dark Rock Pro 4 seems to be a better option, from my personal experience, for about $20 more (at my time of purchase)

 Mine came with 2 large fan brackets so I had to get creative with some zip ties to mount the slim fan. (hence why I am only giving this product 3 stars.)  - Included instructions were not great but the company does have a detailed youtube video on mounting that is much more clear.  - Mouting pressure on the CPU seems way too high

  TLDR: Great cooler for the price point but could use better quality control. Dark Rock Pro 4 seems to be a better option, from my personal experience, for about $20 more (at my time of purchase).

2080S was the second best at the time, the choice of the majority of high end buyers. 9700k is also a high end part too. If it’s running loud try and determine what CPU cooler, gpu model and case you have since these are all things that can be causing the loud noise. I wouldn’t recommend liquid cooling, manufacturers will lead you to believe it’s superior but they do run a lot louder and are more expensive than air coolers so a good air cooler like the scythe Fuma 2, Noctua D15, Be Quiet dark rock 4 pro or Noctua NH U12S will work just fine

It has a really interesting m.2 slot that has room for two drives (only one comes with) but it actually connects to a pcie slot instead of directly to the mother board. Does this have limitations I should be aware of? The MSRP was around 1800 and looking at the same build now it&#39;s 2,800 so I definitely dodged the price bullet at least.

I got a pre-built and not sure if it's great.

With pretty good case airflow, a Scythe Fuma 2 air cooler ($60) and a tube of MX-5, I have been able to apply a +200MHz boost with PBO and with about 15 minutes of tweaking in Ryzen Master, I see max temps of 76c on AIDA64 and OCCT both on extreme settings (small FFT's, cache used, etc.). I have yet to even touch curve optimizer or scalar. I am blown away by how good this thing runs
