My first outing was a tough three night/four day hike in the Rockies. It worked great! We had rain the first night and it was slightly exposed and it stayed dry. The only issue is the pockets. As they are dependent on what’s on the inside of your pack I would make sure you put what your water bottles or bear spray in before packing your bag

The size is perfect for everyday carry but can easily accommodate all the gear I need for a weekend of travel or overnight hiking trip. The laser cut molle is athletically pleasing as well as lower profile than typical molle webbing so the bag doesn't scream tactical unless you start putting extra pouches everywhere. The updated elastic side pockets are perfect and stow away well leaving the pack looking very sleek when not loaded down. Everything seems very quality on this pack and attention to detail is obvious

This backpack is very well made, and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on deployment, except for the fact that it doesn't have very much room inside, and when you set it up for an overnight trip, that's about all it can handle. It's literally just a patrol pack and that's it. It can't hold nearly as much as a standard type 3 assault pack, so really unless you need nothing more than food, water, and a few odds and ends, you'll need a much bigger pack than this.

I know it’s not a “premium” brand, but for me the Direct Action Gear Dragon Egg II is my Goldilocks bag. It checks all the boxes you list, and it just works. I’ve carried that bag every day for several years now, and I can’t really find anything better.
