Verdict - The new design works better on the MacBook Pro 16

With the high performance and the HDR panel, the new MacBook Pro 16 is mainly designed for content creators, who might benefit from an upgrade to one of the optional M1 Max chips if they need more RAM and/or more GPU performance. If you are not sure whether you need the upgrade, you will probably be fine with the M1 Pro. Unlike the MBP 14, the larger MBP 16 does not offer slower versions of the M1 Pro, so it is easier to choose the right SKU for you.

This XPS 13 blows it out of the water in every way, kudos to Dell for finding a way to sell a 1TB OLED XPS for AUD $100 cheaper than the FHD 512GB Spectre already on sale - which was enough for me to pick up a Dell USB-C powerbank which solves the one con of this laptop which is the battery life.

Best 13-inch Win Machine- at a price

A touch typist will have no problem. Pen functions work great, though even this compact machine is really too big and heavy to be a practical tablet. You can fold the screen over if you have an extended drawing project (I do that to hand-write music), but otherwise, just reach over the keyboard to add pen annotations. I chose Win-10 Home ("Business" includes Outlook and other resources I don't need), and an economical Student/Home Office-2019 license (Word, Excel, Ppt, OneNote)
