If you are new to 3D printing, and are unsure of what to ask, try to include the following in your posts as a minimum:

* Your budget, set at a numeric amount. Saying "cheap," or "money is not a problem" is not an answer people can do much with. 3D printers can cost $100, they can cost $10,000,000, and anywhere in between. A rough idea of what you're looking for is essential to figuring out anything else.
* Your country of residence.
* If you are willing to build the printer from a kit, and what your level of experience is with electronic maintenance and construction if so.
* What you wish to do with the printer.
* Any extenuating circumstances that would restrict you from using machines that would otherwise fit your needs (limited space for the printer, enclosure requirement, must be purchased through educational intermediary, etc).

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of what can be included in your posts, these questions should help paint enough of a picture to get started. Don't be afraid to ask more questions, and never worry about asking too many. The people posting in this thread are here because they want to give advice, and any questions you have answered may be useful to others later on, when they read through this thread looking for answers of their own. Everyone here was new once, so chances are whoever is replying to you has a good idea of how you feel currently.

Additionally, a quick word on print quality: Most FDM/FFF (that is, filament based) printers are capable of approximately the same tolerances and print appearance, as the biggest limiting factor is in the nature of extruded plastic. **Asking if a machine has "good prints," or saying "I don't expect the best quality for $xxx" isn't actually relevant for the most part** with regards to these machines. Should you need additional detail and higher tolerances, you may want to explore SLA, DLP, and other photoresin options, as those *do* offer an increase in overall quality. If you are interested in resin machines, make sure you are aware of [how to use them safely](https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrinting/wiki/resinprinting#wiki_safety). For these reasons we don't usually recommend a resin printer as someone's first printer.

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In February 2021

 There are plenty of comprehensive reviews on the Internet, and I'll echo their praises. Build quality is superb, which helps justify the price. The screen and film will eventually wear out, but the rest of this machine feels like it is built to keep going for at least the next decade.

Fantastic quality prints with very fine detail.

 Checked it out for flatness on the CMM again and wow, almost 4x better flatness. Replaced the plate I have and prints stick to it like glue because of the textured laser etching. Shipping wasn't bad at a couple weeks for the replacement.  Still a little sore about the initial one being so poor but have to give credit where it's due since they were quick to replace it with no hassle

TLDR: Great machine, but if you are having failed prints, check plate flatness.  Update: Got in contact with anycubic and they were quick to offer a new build plate. Accepted since I was a bit pessimistic and wanted to see if it was going to be more of the same. And honestly the replacement has some serious quality

Update: Anycubic replaced build plate

 The touch screen is old tech, its not capacitive (sensing your body's electricity) but resistive (like pressing an air bubble, a tech from the first touch devices in the 90s). And changing the resin bath is super expensive (I hope cheaper alternatives become available soon, cause the price Anycubic demands for a framed sheet of plastic is just ridiculous).  Overall my experience was good, and for the price it's really a steal.

4. Downloaded and unzipped to my USB and read the "read me" text which give directions. Its pretty simple only took about 5 mins to update. The reason for only giving it 4 stars is it should be plug and play

I love the big touchscreen display We got a great build volume of 172 by 102 by 160 millimeters tall the dual linear rails are great now I did notice that my lead skirt here kind of wobbles around a bit Yeah, hopefully it's just my model and maybe this is why we see some layering here and there i'm very happy that they included The little carbon filter in the back with the fan to keep the fumes down and obviously the 4k monochrome Screen is you know the highlight of this printer and I do also like this blue cover. It looks pretty cool So yeah guys as you can see, it's a great machine to get started with or even add one to your workspace Also do consider that a cure wash is very useful in any resin printing and the creality uw01 There is a great value and if you are interested in the washing cure station, I do have a video on that one So yeah guys, hopefully you did enjoy this video if you do want to pick up the halit one plus for yourself I'll have some links in the description check it out And if you did enjoy this video then hit that like button if you want to see more videos like this and other things I do on this channel stay tuned for more.  This looks really nice and pretty much perfection And yeah for such a small little benchy the accuracy on this thing is just phenomenal. Hopefully the camera is picking it up here It's really hard to focus on something this little but yeah I was really impressed of how well it did on something even miniature like this So the next print we got here is kind of like a test and this is very tiny And hopefully you guys will make out the details but yeah, it's like a different type of things that are on here and it's a little print by a mary labs and it tests your 3d printer and you guys can see here We pretty much have all of these little vertical points good except a few broken I might have broke that with the little brush I was cleaning off the models with but i'm trying to be careful because these things are super miniature But yeah guys the detail is all there and hopefully you were able to see that the last print here We got this little lizard and I downscaled this guy a lot from its original size And I was kind of worried that these little holes in his body are not going to turn out But they actually did and not only that but to perfection very impressed And I don't know if you guys can see how small this print is Well, I guess by my finger but still this is an ultra tiny print and the finish on it is just superb Everything is smooth. Creality Halot-One Plus - 3D Printer - Unbox & Setup

 Hey guys, in today's video we're going to be checking out a resin printer from Creality

 Which is called the Hala One and this is the Plus version

 So this is the latest greatest from Creality and i'm pretty excited to see what it has to offer

 So in this video, we're going to unbox it set it up and do some prints

 All right, so yeah, i'm pretty excited to see what this printer looks like

 It comes in the dimensions of the box 31 by 30 by 53 centimeters and the shipping label says 15 kilograms

 Which is about 30 and a few pounds. So let's go ahead and open it up

 And i'm just going to open it from the top

 Another thing to note at least here on my box is we've got hard corners taped to each

 Side, which is really nice and protects it very well in shipping

 All right. So yeah, there's not much to see

 So everything is encased in soft foam a little piece on top looks like we have some kind of white envelope

 All right, so we do have an extra fat film for the tub and a leveling paper with instructions on how to level the bed

 So on the very top we do have the tub with some things in it

 And it's a baggie with our manual in there and some accessories and we'll look at this here in a second

 But yeah, this is what the tub looks like. It's quite lightweight and very thin all around which is quite interesting

 And it appears to be some kind of like a magnesium

 I don't even know what kind of metal this is, but it's not the typical aluminum

 Which is quite interesting and we do have some markings there on the inside and actually two pour spouts on a couple edges

 All right. So let's get some of this foam off here

 Here we can see the style of this printer which the cool blue cover looks quite unique

 I definitely like that and it is just all one piece and we got plastic all around it with the creality logo

 Very nice and quite different than what we're used to. All right, so as you guys can see packed very well

 Which has a baggie with a couple twisty knobs and this looks like it's for the tub our power cord

 And it looks like this printer here has an integrated power supply

 So you just get this cord and it looks like about four or five feet long and also we get a spatula

 That is somewhat sharpened and this is good for scraping your models off the build plate

 So yeah here we can see the z-axis frame and the first thing i'm noticing is got dual linear rails

 Which is really nice to see as it is going to be much more stable and also all of this here is quite beefy

 But yeah, we're going to take a closer look here in a second. Let's go ahead and get the rest of this foam off

 And quite an interesting looking printer here, so the build plate is pre-installed let's go ahead and cut it loose

 So it is just a piece of aluminum looks like and the finish is just a texture kind of like what it is all around

 Now if you do have trouble with sticking you can sand this down with some sandpaper or something to give it a little more roughness

 Resin should roll off pretty good and you're not gonna have a lot of static resin just floating on top

 So yeah, really nice design and this bracket here looks a little different than the rest of it and it's also in black

 And again, it looks like it's not milled but poured or forged. I don't even know how you call it

 But so yeah, that's our build plate and that's pretty much everything with the unpacking except for maybe taking off some protective

 Plastics here and there kind of like here on the front. Let's go ahead and remove that

 And also on the tub there's a little protective tape here
