ANYCUBIC Photon Mono X $759\* - No parts available anywhere. Elegoo Saturn $499 if lucky on Amazon - No parts available anywhere, but have been told their online service is good. The EPAX seems like the best choice, but it’s over my price range once I factor in other stuff like the curing station. If you are new to 3D printing, and are unsure of what to ask, try to include the following in your posts as a minimum:

* Your budget, set at a numeric amount. Saying "cheap," or "money is not a problem" is not an answer people can do much with. 3D printers can cost $100, they can cost $10,000,000, and anywhere in between. A rough idea of what you're looking for is essential to figuring out anything else.
* Your country of residence.
* If you are willing to build the printer from a kit, and what your level of experience is with electronic maintenance and construction if so.
* What you wish to do with the printer.
* Any extenuating circumstances that would restrict you from using machines that would otherwise fit your needs (limited space for the printer, enclosure requirement, must be purchased through educational intermediary, etc).

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of what can be included in your posts, these questions should help paint enough of a picture to get started. Don't be afraid to ask more questions, and never worry about asking too many. The people posting in this thread are here because they want to give advice, and any questions you have answered may be useful to others later on, when they read through this thread looking for answers of their own. Everyone here was new once, so chances are whoever is replying to you has a good idea of how you feel currently.

Additionally, a quick word on print quality: Most FDM/FFF (that is, filament based) printers are capable of approximately the same tolerances and print appearance, as the biggest limiting factor is in the nature of extruded plastic. **Asking if a machine has "good prints," or saying "I don't expect the best quality for $xxx" isn't actually relevant for the most part** with regards to these machines. Should you need additional detail and higher tolerances, you may want to explore SLA, DLP, and other photoresin options, as those *do* offer an increase in overall quality. If you are interested in resin machines, make sure you are aware of [how to use them safely](https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrinting/wiki/resinprinting#wiki_safety). For these reasons we don't usually recommend a resin printer as someone's first printer.

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In February 2021

 There are plenty of comprehensive reviews on the Internet, and I'll echo their praises. Build quality is superb, which helps justify the price. The screen and film will eventually wear out, but the rest of this machine feels like it is built to keep going for at least the next decade.

Fantastic quality prints with very fine detail.

 Checked it out for flatness on the CMM again and wow, almost 4x better flatness. Replaced the plate I have and prints stick to it like glue because of the textured laser etching. Shipping wasn't bad at a couple weeks for the replacement.  Still a little sore about the initial one being so poor but have to give credit where it's due since they were quick to replace it with no hassle

TLDR: Great machine, but if you are having failed prints, check plate flatness.  Update: Got in contact with anycubic and they were quick to offer a new build plate. Accepted since I was a bit pessimistic and wanted to see if it was going to be more of the same. And honestly the replacement has some serious quality

 The touch screen is old tech, its not capacitive (sensing your body's electricity) but resistive (like pressing an air bubble, a tech from the first touch devices in the 90s). And changing the resin bath is super expensive (I hope cheaper alternatives become available soon, cause the price Anycubic demands for a framed sheet of plastic is just ridiculous).  Overall my experience was good, and for the price it's really a steal.

4. Downloaded and unzipped to my USB and read the "read me" text which give directions. Its pretty simple only took about 5 mins to update. The reason for only giving it 4 stars is it should be plug and play

 It's the third incarnation of this style of plastic bass that I've personally seen, and whilst I've no doubt it's created with the intention to reduce production costs, I can say positively that it does work. The menu screen is small, but clear with the standard Anycubic user interface that makes operation straightforward and simple. The M3 has a single linear rail and is supported by a strong metal upright. The Z-arm is a simple affair that we've seen now on the Ultra and the Mono 4k, so it's proven to work given this shared heritage

 These Anycubic SLA printers are great for moderates that know their way around FDM 3D printing, but certainly not someone that is just looking into the hobby/trade.

Own the original Photon and now this Photon S. Many differences.

 metal strong, you know, pretty thick piece. So pretty simple Review: It's it's I guess I would call now a standard, you know, 4k printer but it's well thought out, the machine well done, it works really well, and uh, the price seems. you know, very reasonable to me what we can get for uh for under 300 these days. I I still think this whole hobby is incredibly exciting and and even after me having done like thousands and thousands of prints over my various machines and printing so much stuff, I have to admit I'm still excited

 Oh and it is. This is metal. It is not a plastic vat that is. That is definitely metal

 I would call this a cheap, You know it's an entry-level 4k printer. Uh, and it does the job, you know? Solid printer, solidly constructed, and and again I will reiterate that I really like, um the vat had all the the three things I like. handles, feet and fill line. Uh, the build plate was very nice as well and like I said, construction was good, the Z-axis didn't wobble at all, the arm holding the plate is nice and stable

 Really really good detail. Um, and I said I saw no Z wobble and the printer shows no evidence of it. There's no lines in anything. Everything came out nice
