The point is, I'm doing fast, simple stuff, so YMMV. I can print 3 frames in 3.25 hours whereas the Makerbots print 2 in 4 hours, with rafts. The three use the same amount of filament as one on the Makerbot

The sovol 1 has the thermal runaway problems and the broken nozzle problem. Both printers have nice upgrades you can get for a better ease of use but all the plugs on the motherboard are hotglued in so you risk hurting the motherboard when trying to install and that doesn't seem use friendly I've had to use the return service on both of them but the sovol 3 still has a wobbly nozzle issue and the sovol 1s nozzle still broke off in the hot end while replacing. I will not be buying from sovol again I wish you luck and hope you get on of there more cared for production models.

I can go smaller (220X220X300 is fine but don't really want under 8''). I want something precise enough to be able to assemble parts and can repeat itself were I can replace those assembled parts.

It is built with quality parts and the machine was done well. I didn't find any miss drills or missing or stripped screws. I did make a minor adjustment to the z alignment in relation to the base frame, a couple of mm. This put the two z lead screws more in sync

Period. This machine is actually underpriced for the quality it outputs. I bought my first 3D printer over a year and a half ago after doing extensive research (as you are most likely doing now) I purchased an i3 Mega. I was very excited to enter into this new area of 3D Printing

You should avoid the Ender 3 V2 you listed. Or avoid the Ender 3 series in general. That Ender 3 v2 is stupidly expensive for what it is worth at 280 dollars.

With these changes, the owls printed again, better than the initial run. A different color film also worked perfectly. Three stars, because if you are not tech savvy and patient, this won't work for you. This is a step above something home built, but not plug and play with zero issues

Update 4/6/22: The cooling fan is now rattling so loud I can't let the printer print overnight, I've had it shut down for a couple days, sent two emails to sovol that have gone without response, I've only had this printer for a week and was just asking for a replacement cooling fan. Maybe it's just been bad timing for them, but this experience has kind of stopped being enjoyable, I just want the printer to have working parts.
