Don't care at all about battery life, or how it looks (though I do find all the bright lights and stuff kinda offputting). A physically sturdy build is important though. Nothing that just falls apart if you travel with it.

Weight and thinness don't matter, bulky is totally fine.

The most intensive game I play is probably Hunt: Showdown. If I could get 80-ish FPS on medium or low settings that would be awesome.

The less extra stuff the better. Like my ideal laptop is just a brick with great gaming hardware I guess. It's also pretty important that I can just take it out of the box, download steam, and get going. I am bad at technology and I would pay extra to not have to fiddle with stuff on set up. 

I don't really understand computers, and just want something sturdy that will let me play games with my friends for the next few years while I travel.

Suggest me a gaming laptop United States $1500ish USD budget

If you do really care about battery life like me tho, I'd suggest waiting for the ASUS TUF A15 which has a 90Whr battery, higher than the Omen's and it costs 9k more than the nitro ie 1.04 Lakhs. Oh and it also has a ryzen 7 5800H which is great if you want a more future proof cpu and if you edit videos.

I wanna purchase a gaming laptop to replace my current one and I am torn between these choices. I know that the omen has a reputation for having a better screen, keyboard, and great thermals but the Nitro 5 is cheaper and has an RTX 3060. I am aware of the TDP tomfoolery, although I don't know if it's worse than the 2060 for being 80 watts only.

 So first up We're looking at our idle temps right here for our CPU around 42 degrees Celsius our motherboards show in 36 degrees Celsius. We do have the tempered glass panel on so keep that in mind The case is fully enclosed so to speak now Let's go ahead Let's put the CPU under full load and check on the temps again So you can see our CPU is currently under 100% loaded It has been for over five minutes and I just actually saw a temperature drop So it appears we have peaked at 65 degrees Celsius. Now you can see it's holding steady around 63 64 degrees Celsius so the cooler is working great and obviously so is the CPU. So now we're looking at CPU Z Check it out
