 If you, if you guys gaming and doing streaming or any sort of video editing, i definitely recommend getting this one, because it's cheaper and the performance in games. If you go for the ryzen 5000 series, it's only 1080p, but if you go for 4k, uh, 4k or 1440p, the performance is kind of the same, so i'll definitely go for the ryzen 3700x. Now this is based on a seven nanometer uh. It produces less heat

 You know, given that the ps5 and the xbox have an eight core 3700x technically, but it's down clocked um definitely get one of these. I think it will make a big difference. I would not invest if people are trying to go for the sixth course of amd. Do not go for them because, in my opinion, the the higher call count you go the better it will be, and it will be more future proof so definitely get one of these guys, and i think it would be amazing and you just won't be disappointed

 We test. The 9700 K is 17.1 %. The head of the 3700 acts here all stock or 18 percent when both are overclocked

 If you're spending more than you would for an r5 3600 at $ 200 for a gaming focus, build it probably best to go for a 9700 K, if you're, stepping down in price we'd say go for the r5 3600. The r7 3700 X is tough to justifying gaming workloads and doesn't quite fit in as cleanly as the 3600 and the 3600 X might even outperform it in some because of the boosting behavior, where it can boost higher with more limited thread count. We need to look at that when it comes out, but it becomes easier to justify the 3700 acts as a cheaper solution for production tasks for pure gaming. We continue to recommend at this point the Intel CPUs in this price bracket

 The difference very nearly within error margins disabling that some tea on the 3600 pushes it above the 3700 X again, but we'd still advise against disabling SMT for actual use. This is just an experiment. The differences between stock versus overclocked and 3600 vs. 3700 X are barely there

 With the 3600 we more or less give it a clean sweep. When for the purchase in its price category of $ 200, you could get a 9600 K. It'S definitely performs better and gaming workloads by a bit, but the jumps aren't that big and at that price category you shave a bit off the price of what a 9600 K costs. So after dozens of hours spent on reading I assembled parts list that make my dream system.

First. no GPU - I already have 1660 Super and intend to buy a new one when prices get back to normal. PSU should be sufficient for 3080/3080ti (I guess - please correct if wrong). 

So anything I should swap over?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor  
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B 51.17 CFM CPU Cooler   
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Extreme4 ATX AM4 Motherboard  
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory  
Storage: Crucial P5 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  
Case: be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ATX Mid Tower Case

Case: seems one of the best in this price range - the system will be sitting on the floor on a small pc trollery and this case has control buttons and inputs facing up which is convenient
PSU: as mentioned earlier, I have 3080 or ti version in mind, in about 6 months time so I believe should be good enough for me?

UPDATE: Wow, this blew out, I didn&#39;t expect so much! Thank you all for your input. This makes me even more confused to what to go for (haha!)!!!

I changed cooling to ARCTIC Freezer 34 and SSD to Western Digital Blue SN550 and mobo to Aorus Pro v2 / AC / AX depending on availability and prices. 
I also hear you #DM725 with your suggestion to go for Intel - I will explore it further.

As for 6c/8c debacle I decided to go for 8 cores as last time I skimped on it and if I had 2 cores more on my current CPU right now I wouldn&#39;t feel so pressured to change it.

What you guys think of the build I want to buy?

 With the 5900X, each CCD only has six of the possible eight cores enabled resulting in a six plus six configuration making it a 12 core processor. And that makes these six core CCDs less valuable as they can't be used in the more expensive 5950X or the Epic 3 CPUs. So you see where this is going, the 5800X and 5600X only use a single CCD, but the 5800X requires top shelf silicon with all cores enabled, whereas the six core 5600X receives the same lower binned silicon used by the 5900X. If the 5800X was to come in at roughly the same cost per core as the 5900X, it'd cost just $370, but for the sake of this hypothetical, let's bump that up to $400 to price match the 3800X, which already wasn't a good deal sitting next to the $330 US 3700X, but let's go with $400 anyway, as it is half the price of the 5950X

 Pricing aside though, the Ryzen 7 5800X is a phenomenal leap forward from AMD's previous generation of 8 core processors. A 23% gaming performance uplift on average is quite incredible, and as I said earlier, AMD now offers the world's fastest 8 core desktop CPU, it's just a shame that it didn't retain last gen pricing. Anyway, there's not much more to say on this one, at $450 US I recommend skipping the 5800X, either spend less on the 10700K, or maybe get the 5600X which is cheaper again, and we'll be looking at that part tomorrow. Or you could spend more to get the 5900X, or I guess alternatively you could also keep your eye open for a good deal on a third gen Ryzen part, so there are plenty of alternatives there

 So for that reason, I feel most of you will either end up being upsold to the 5900X or opt to save some money and go with the cheaper six core 5600X, a part that I will be looking at tomorrow. Both processors do have 8 cores with 16 threads so in that regard they should age pretty much the same, and that means spending almost 20% more for PCIe 4.0 which might end up being useful within the lifespan of the product makes the 5800X a bit of a tough sell. AMD is really putting buyers in a situation where those looking to spend around $400 are best off saving a few bucks and going with Intel, or alternatively they need to dig deep and come up with another $100 or so to land the Ryzen 9 5900X

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Review, Maybe... Don't Buy It! - YouTube

 Today we're testing the Ryzen 7 5800X, the new 8 core 16 thread model.

 Now yesterday I checked out the extremely impressive Ryzen 9 5900X and then the day

 So that means we've already ticked off the 12 and 16 core models and that's also why

 I currently have very big bags under my eyes and also bloodshot eyes, but that's all

 So let's continue to work our way down at the product stack.

 Now this probably isn't the best way to start this review, but I've got to say the 5800X

 looks to be the least compelling processor in the new Ryzen 5000 series.

 There's certainly nothing wrong with an 8 core 16 thread processor clocked at up to 4.7GHz

 with high IPC, in fact right now you could certainly argue that is a sweet spot for gamers.

 The problem though is the price, $450 US is just $100 cheaper than the 5900X and while

 that is almost a 20% saving, you're also getting 33% fewer cores.

 That means whereas the 5900X costs $46 per core, the 5800X costs 22% more at $56 per

 Hell, that's even 12% more per core than the flagship part, the 5950X.

 Now if you're wondering why AMD has positioned the 5800X so poorly, the answer is simple,

 it just doesn't make sense for them to sell it any cheaper.

 As I'm sure many of you are aware, the Ryzen processors consist of multiple chiplets or

 smaller dies rather than a single monolithic die like what we see with the Intel processors.

 In the case of Zen 3, a CCD or Core Complex die packs 8 cores, so a CPU like the 5950X

 has two CCDs with all cores enabled for an 8 plus 8 core configuration.

 Then there's a third die called the IO die which houses the dual channel DDR4 memory

 controller, PCI Express Gen 4 root complex and a number of SoC features such as SATA

 So making up a CPU like the 5950X, two CCDs and a single IO die, the same configuration

 used by the 5900X, but the 12 core version doesn't require fully working CCDs rather

 the defective silicon with one or two failed cores can be used.

 With the 5900X, each CCD only has six of the possible eight cores enabled resulting in

 a six plus six configuration making it a 12 core processor.
