Runs As Expected but Hot

But for gamers , definitely but an aftermarket cooler to get better frequencies and temps.

Overkill for some things, not enough power for others

Cons: You really do need an upgraded cooler for this CPU. I was using the Wraith-Prism cooler and it was routinely getting up into the high 80's. The price is also hard to swallow, with the money I got back from my return I was able to get a CPU, motherboard, and power supply. Intel is being very aggressive right now with their pricing, and the i9-12900k is $550, and that out-performs the AMD in almost everything

Great for gaming and working!

I upgraded from a 3950X which I got on sale for $100 off. The 3950X is a better value in terms of performance for the dollar when on sale like that. The 5950X is still a great processor but I'm not sure it was worth all the trouble to get during the stock shortage compared to a 3950X which is readily available most of the time. I would say go with the 3950X if you come across one for a good deal

Compatibility

Excellent price for performance, AMD is unbeatable IMHO

Not only price point, but AMD processors as a whole are far better with power consumption; the TDP for AMD Ryzen processors is roughly half that of equivalent Intel processors (mid 60's for AMD, mid 120's for Intel). Prices are from Amazon; performance is from CPU-Z benchmarks. The Ryzen 5 5600x is an excellent CPU if you do not want to spend 200+ on a good processor. I highly recommend for lower/mid-tier builds and make sure you pair it with a Zen 3 motherboard to exploit its full potential

Amazing CPU! Definitely worth it for content creation

At full load, all the cores ran on about 4500MHz. You might get better results than me if you have a lower ambient temperature, a high end Motherboard and a good 360 or even 480 AIO cooler. But hey, I'm not planning to break any benchmark records with this CPU, I just wanna use it in an efficient and safe way for my work.

Power Consumption

I built my first gaming pc and chose this cpu, I’ve had it for 5 months now and it hasn’t slowed me down at all. At first I used it with a gtx 1070 and it ran everything great. recently I got a 6750xt and everything still feels really nice, sometimes it does bottleneck me a little but that rarely happens. The best thing about this cpu for me is its power consumption, if I had a more power hungry cpu I probably wouldn’t be able to have the setup I have now without having to buy another psu
