The Intel I5 11400 with B560 motherboard is probably a better value at the moment but consumes a little more power and does not offer much in the way of upgrade path. Keep in mind that any Intel "k" series processor does not have integrated graphics.

I built my first gaming pc and chose this cpu, I’ve had it for 5 months now and it hasn’t slowed me down at all. At first I used it with a gtx 1070 and it ran everything great. recently I got a 6750xt and everything still feels really nice, sometimes it does bottleneck me a little but that rarely happens. The best thing about this cpu for me is its power consumption, if I had a more power hungry cpu I probably wouldn’t be able to have the setup I have now without having to buy another psu

You can get a sk hynix 1tb s31 gold for about $105 and 2x8 PC3200 corsair RAM for $89. Give or take around $688 compared to $500 - quite a leap depending on how much of that stuff you can get on sale you'll come much closer but the biggest price leap is actually the jump up to the 5600g (which I would hope is a dramatic improvement in both processing and graphics). Overall the performance boost with those specs compared to what you listed above for give or take $180 more

You should pair this APU with a good mobo and memory. I chose the MSI B550 MPG Gamer Edge WiFi, and TeamGroup DDR4 3600. The mobo will be critical in determining your possible upgrade paths, and the memory is used by the AMD APUs to help with the graphics

Not only price point, but AMD processors as a whole are far better with power consumption; the TDP for AMD Ryzen processors is roughly half that of equivalent Intel processors (mid 60's for AMD, mid 120's for Intel). Prices are from Amazon; performance is from CPU-Z benchmarks. The Ryzen 5 5600x is an excellent CPU if you do not want to spend 200+ on a good processor. I highly recommend for lower/mid-tier builds and make sure you pair it with a Zen 3 motherboard to exploit its full potential
