When you have undone the thumbscrews and lifted the assembly from the CPU, what happened to me will likely happen to you: lint drops out of the bottom of the heat sink onto the thermal coat on the CPU (the gray blotch in the picture). Lint is an excellent thermal insulator, and this would prevent adequate cooling. I cleaned off the CPU and put on a fresh thermal coat layer. Once you have the assembly detached, you'll need to remove two screws on the _back_ side of the capture ring in order to remove the capture ring (circled in the picture of the bottom of the heat sink)

It's pretty snappy and I have been doing quite a bit of multitasking on it and it hasn't ever lagged out on me. It's worth trying, just use a website like pcbuilder.com to check compatibility because it's important. Have fun and build something!

Power Supply i'd go with a bstock from Evga during midweek madness which will set you back about $60-$70 for a 850 GQ, you could go lower for sure and probably net a 650 GQ for $40-$50. You can get a sk hynix 1tb s31 gold for about $105 and 2x8 PC3200 corsair RAM for $89. Give or take around $688 compared to $500 - quite a leap depending on how much of that stuff you can get on sale you'll come much closer but the biggest price leap is actually the jump up to the 5600g (which I would hope is a dramatic improvement in both processing and graphics). Overall the performance boost with those specs compared to what you listed above for give or take $180 more

You should pair this APU with a good mobo and memory. I chose the MSI B550 MPG Gamer Edge WiFi, and TeamGroup DDR4 3600. The mobo will be critical in determining your possible upgrade paths, and the memory is used by the AMD APUs to help with the graphics

Go into the Omen Gaming Hub and overclock the CPU. I literally can't tell if there's been a difference in performance, but it feels cool to say "yah, my CPU is overclocked."
