 I refused to overclock because that comes with a likelihood that the card will fry. At a certain point I got a notification that the settings had been reverted to default due to an unexpected power failure. My guess is because of this, and the fact that I didn't go back, and change the settings, the GPU fried itself on default settings, while playing a game that shouldn't have been putting that much of a load on the card itself.  TL;DR I'm disappointed that this product (in my case) lasted less than a year, and am skeptical to buy another

 I tried turning the computer on but the leds on my cooling fans would flash then turn off. The actual computer would not. I took it in for a diagnostic and the GPU had shorted, and as a failsafe the computer wouldn't turn on to prevent further damage.  I had tinkered with the Watt Management settings to run the fans faster at lower temps than the default settings because I explicitly did not want the card to fry

 In terms of the actual performance I don't have any complaints. The card handled my games, and VR programs very well, and I never had many issues with it. However based on some of the reviews I've seen of people having problems right off the bat I'm not so sure this product is the best of choices out there. Price was rather good for what its capable of but you have to be very cautious about overheating it

All in all, if you get it for less than 200 bucks, it's worth it for games like Rainbow Six, Counterstrike, Total War games, and Bugthesda games

 Here. The RX 580 reached an average of 46 FPS with bottom 1 % at 17 FPS.. So it is definitely capable here as well, even though one might consider lowering the settings to stabilize the bottom 1 % even further

 At the time of making. This video, the price of an RX 580, starts at around $ 600, which is pretty crazy., And because of that, I can't recommend buying it in 2021, unless the price will fall in the future.

AMD Radeon RX 580 - Still worth it in 2021?

Guys, the last year has been hard for everyone
wanting to build a decent gaming rig.

And finding a graphics card for its actual
MSRP has become almost impossible.

However, that was also true last summer,
yet the AMD Radeon RX 580 was still one of

the best and most recommended GPUs with great
price-to-performance and availability.

But more than half a year has passed since
then and the supply shortages have even worsened

while the prices for hardware have risen steadily.

And therefore we have to retake a look at
some of the greatest GPUs of the past and

reevaluate if they are still a great buy or
if we should stay away from them for now.

And in this video we will take a look at the
RX 580.

But before we evaluate whether the card is
still one the GPUs with the best price-to-performance

ratio,
let's take a look at its most important features.

The RX 580 has 2304 Streaming Processors
a boost clock of 1340 MHz out of the box

There are also 4 GB versions available out
there, but these days you should shy away

from them
as 4 GBs of GDDR5 are generally not enough

However, with 8 GBs and decent processing
speeds this card is perfect for 1080p Gaming.

I've got the XFX GTS Triple X Edition here,
which i was already impressed with last year.

Despite the fact that it runs a bit hot in
the stress tests with almost 80 degrees,

the fans are relatively quiet and hardly produce
any noise.

The Rx 580 requires an 8-pin power connector,
as it's power draw is rated at 185 Watts maximum.

And on the back this model has 3 display ports
1.4 and one HDMI port 2.0, which is

enough to support 3 4K Monitors or 4 1080p
Monitors.

Now let's take the RX 580 through a few currently
popular titles and see how it does.

The test system also features a Ryzen 9 3900x
and 16 GBs of 3600 MHz ram,

which is enough to make sure not to bottleneck
the GPU.

Now i didn't feel it was completely appropriate
to test this particular card at

Ultra settings for all games as it did struggle
a little bit here and there so

we do have a little bit of a mix in this testing.

Starting of with League of Legends however
and here i was able to play at 4K and Max

Here the Rx 580 is averaging 239 fps with
bottom 1% at 131 respectively.

I know League of Legends isn't a particularly
hard game to run, but it is a very popular

one and here the RX 580 is absolutely crushing.

Moving on to Valorant here we are looking
at Medium Settings at 2K in a normal online

Here the Rx 580 is able to push to 190 FPS
on average with bottom 1% at 115.

Another FPS game the RX 580 handled quite
well is Fortnite.

As this is another esports title i was not
surprised to see another very high average

The framerate was also smooth with bottom
1% at 134 FPS.

Not much else to say but the RX 580 is easily
capable at 1080p at this title.

Switching over to triple-A titles,
in GTA 5 i tested 1080p and high settings.

Here the framerate was good with 58 FPS on
average and bottom 1% at 25 FPS delivering
