Altra Lone Peak 6 vs Asics Magic Speed

The shoes were still a bit looser than I would have liked, and I ended up with blisters on the outsides of each big toe. I really only run into issues with the shoes on rocky downhills where my feet may slip off of rocks. I don’t know if it feels sloppy because of the width or because of some feature of the shoe. Oh, by the way, they do look goofy with the WIDE toe-box area, but that's how some feet are made. I'll take comfort over fashion any day. 4 stars

That being said, I will say that slower runners would do well with erring on the softer shoes (Metaspeed Sky, NB RC Elite 2, Vaporfly Next%) over the firmer shoes, given the longer time on feet and the increased comfort of the softer foams.

They are not waterproof and do allow airflow. But not nearly enough, especially when compared to the material found on the Altra Riveria Street or Topo Terraventure 3.

I tried a size 14 in these but sizing up made the shoe too wide and the toe box was so large my feet were moving side to side. Even doubling socks didn’t help - I also hate doing that.
