For movies bigger is better, and higher resolution is better... I won’t stick to a 27” if I were you

Im doing it right now, I'm so sick of having issues running certain games, and i play a lot of comp pvp like Fortnite Arena, Valorant, Overwatch, all of which crop my monitor to 16:9 anyways. Tried playing Outerworlds but it was zoomed in and looked terrible, cant play Fallout4 without mods, just a pain in the ass, so i figured if my comp games are cropping me anyways i might as well be crropped at a higher refresh rate, I just ordered the Alienware AW2721D which is 27" 1440p 240hz, Gsyn Ultimate, to replace my 34" 1440p 144hz monitor.

I have found toggling the refresh rate in the display settings from 60hz to variable 40-60 and back fixes it instantly.

I'm using a VESA certified KableDirekt DP 1.4 cable and two high end HDMI 2.0 cables, very tight and unnecessarily crowded port area, there’s plenty of space to spread them out more. - Noticeable overshoot in MS Office, web browsing (text) and other apps when using the faster or higher response time setting, sometimes noticeable during gaming as well, you are left using the slowest setting, fast

FYI: Although @DellCares was super-fast in asking for information, they never did respond at all once I'd provided it. If customer service is important to you, you may want to look at a different manufacturer for your next display.

The stand's design helps to hide cables. The back of the screen is visible when the room is entered. The Alienware lighting and logo on the back of the monitor are an immediate attention getter. The bling can be turned off in the Alienware Command Center software or put on high or dimmed a bit

Great display and nice design. My 13” laptop fits under it without covering the display. No need for a stand.

Only issues: 1) Monitor Stand is massive - will have to buy a monitor arm (any recommendations would be appreciated) 2) My box was damaged, missing DP Cable in the box (not Dell's fault). 3) Very inconvenient cable placement, you must take off the removable back panel and swing it around to connect, while this might not be an issue for some, with such a big stand and not a lot of desk room, it is a bit of a hinderance. But it does look clean, so this CON depends on the user. 4) Alienware Command Center cannot locate the monitor (not a big deal, I didn't buy it for the lighting features anyway, but it could be a problem for some gamers) 5) The stand pushes the monitor very forward, not a deal breaker, the monitor arm will fix this issue but from the back of the stand to the front of the monitor, it is around 9 inches, which is a problem if you have a narrow desk

* Asus PA278QV (also too big and bit expensive but for now probably I would go with this one and try to come up with something to fit it on my desk)
