If you're shopping at a mid-range price point, the best HEPA vacuum for allergies we've tested is the Airsign HEPA Vacuum. It doesn't have the grab-and-go convenience of the Roborock H7, but it is cheaper and better-suited for longer clean-ups due to its corded design. It has an onboard HEPA filter with charcoal filtration, helping to seal in fine allergens and minimize odor, and uses biodegradable dirtbags with a built-in seal cover. I have a bunch of pets and cleaning my floors regularly took up soo much of my time and energy! It also took a huge toll on my body and mood. Now my floors get cleaned daily and I use that time to do other chores or pick up extra shifts. Worth every single penny!!

Best money you've spent in the last year

  If I had a time machine and could go back 12 months, I'd get another Progressive vac, or try a different vac. I would not buy this again.

 But for the money, it's not much of an improvement over my old vac, and the cord retraction and inability to disconnect the powerhead with your foot are starting to really irritate me. What really makes it irritating is that they would seem to be easy fixes, and I don't know why they have not made that change.  If I had a time machine and could go back 12 months, I'd get another Progressive vac, or try a different vac. I would not buy this again

The cord retraction is horrible.  Always trying to retract the cord when I don't want.  So frustrating!

 The vacuum was received 2 weeks ago and has been used 4 times. I have changed the bag, inspected the filter as well as looked for clogs everywhere..

I want to love this vacuum. With the hardwood floor attachment or regular nozzle, this vacuum is amazing. When I use the ET-1 attachment on the area rugs I have, it intermittently turns off. I understand the red light turns on if it is sensing the level needs to be adjusted up or down but the whole thing shuts off and this happens multiple times in a matter of minutes

I recommended going to a local dealer. I just got a Sebo K3 with 8 bags, filter replacement and the turbo brush attachment for $650. Plus supporting and knowing the person who will probably service your machine is nice too.

I’ve got some analysis paralysis and need help deciding between:

1) Sebo K3 (available for $789 on Amazon, but would want to add the better parquet tool for $89)

2) Sebo E3 ($999 but not available from Amazon right now)

3) Miele C3, but I’m not sure which model to get. 

I have a mix of hardwood, tile and large area rugs. 2,800 sq foot home. A couple of the area rugs (and the carpeted stairs) are delicate woven wool and have had some threads come out from a brush in the past, so would want to make sure I can turn the brush off or use a parquet tool on those. The others are wool but a bit sturdier and heavily trafficked so could use a brush. All are pretty low pile. 

We have a dog who does not shed but tracks in dirt from outside. 

I have a housekeeper so want this to be easy for her to use. 

For the Miele C3, there’s the “Kona,” “Marin,” “Dog and Cat,” “Brilliant,” and I’m sort of confused about which one is best for me. 

Any suggestions? I’m sort of leaning towards the Sebo K3 because people say it’s simple and cheap in the long term and also happens to be the least expensive up front, but wonder what I’m missing from the other options.

 If it's not included in the box, I'd highly recommend getting the Premium Parquet head. Best hard floor tool on the market IMO.

There's nothing really better than a power nozzle canister (like the SEBO K3) for being able to tackle a variety of surfaces. You probably wouldn't end up using the ET-1 powerhead as much if you moved someplace with hard floors and area rugs, but the SEBO K3's still gonna be a top tier vacuum when equipped with a hard floor nozzle. If it's not included in the box, I'd highly recommend getting the Premium Parquet head. Best hard floor tool on the market IMO

Sebo is top of the line!

 I wouldn't worry too much about the warranty on the SEBO, just make sure you regular replace the bags with genuine SEBO bags and replace the filters between 8-10 bag changes. This same advice goes for the Miele.

Trying to decide between a used Sebo K3 and  new(open box) Miele Classic C1 Turbo, both come around the same price ($325-350). It will be for a relatively small apartment, mainly hardfloors.  My elderly mother will be the main user of it. I worry about the nearest repair service for the Sebo being relatively far away and any warranty will not apply as I am buying used.

It will be for a relatively small apartment, mainly hardfloors. My elderly mother will be the main user of it. I worry about the nearest repair service for the Sebo being relatively far away and any warranty will not apply as I am buying used.

Greetings, vacuum cleaner enthusiasts! 

Looking to purchase my first legitimate vacuum because our current one is utter garbage, and I can't stand the dirty kitchen floor it's leaving behind... 

My budget is sitting around $500, but would obviously love for it to be cheaper.  Happy to shell out the money though if y'all can convince me it's worth it. 

Small house (2 stories) is mostly hard floor.  Just my partner and me (no pets, no kids, barely any friends/family/visitors).  Upstairs Bedrooms/Hallway are traditional hardwood.  We also rolled out an accent, low-pile carpet in our Bedroom, so that's a mix there.  Kitchen/Dining is that vinyl hard floor that looks like paneled hardwood, but isn't actual hardwood.  Bathroom is tiled (looks like large granite/stone squares?) with a couple small, medium-pile rugs.  And Living Room is the only carpeted room, wall-to-wall low-pile carpet. 

Needs: 

* sealed HEPA-filtration system
* extra attachments/accoutrements for above-floor cleaning and reaching some tighter spaces around furniture / in the bathroom


Wants: 

* the quieter the better; it's not a deal-breaker, but my tinitus really flares up with vacuums...


With all that, I guess I'm looking at something like the Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction?  But honestly I'm not sure, which is why I'm here! 

Also, I was looking into vacuum/mop combos, but according to this subreddit, those aren't great at all.  So if you have any insights for a good mop solution, that would be great!  Saw a recommendation for the *Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner*.  Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations &lt;$500. Mostly hard floor, with one wall-to-wall carpet and a couple small rugs.

Suction not as good as I had hoped. Though it is really quiet compared to conventional vacuums. Returned item in hopes to find something with better suction that fills the bag.

  The SEBO K3 is wonderfully quiet. The exhaust air passes through what looks like a cushy bumper around the perimeter of the canister. Hence, the name "Airbelt." This excellent design helps account for the quiet operation of the machine

 Is it better to buy a moderately priced piece of junk, or a hugely expensive machine that is not junk?

 It really is easy to use. The Hoover has a headlight. It also has a light that goes out when the section of carpet you are pummeling is clean. I really like that

  The Hoover has much more suction than the SEBO K3. In fact, it is wonderfully powerful. It is also hugely, ridiculously loud. Unlike the SEBO K3, the Hoover is an upright vacuum

To spend or not to spend

We only use canister vacuums. This is our second Sebo K3. So yes, we would buy it yet again. We just did

 The Kenmore is too loud. We used to be loyal to the Kenmore brand and even bought the Panasonic version once but now it is Sebo all the way.  We had tried a Miele years ago when we settled on our first Sebo K3. The only problem we had with the Miele if you are curious is how hard it is to push and pull on carpeting

  It is far quieter than the Kenmore. We bought one again recently, looking for something at a better price but returned it. The Kenmore is too loud. We used to be loyal to the Kenmore brand and even bought the Panasonic version once but now it is Sebo all the way
