If you're shopping at a mid-range price point, the best HEPA vacuum for allergies we've tested is the Airsign HEPA Vacuum. I've tried the Miele C3 Complete and the Kenmore Elite 700 series and while the Miele has better suction, the vacuum itself is very heavy (specifically the motorized carpet attachment) and the whole thing feels cheap.  I absolutely LOVE the Kenmore but the suction isn't very good.  I'm thinking about trying a Aerus but you can't just buy those online and I want to be able to return it if I don't like it.  You guys have any other suggestions?  I have medium pile carpeting in 90% of my house.  I would like a completely sealed system and a bagged vacuum if possible.  I'm staying in quarantine until I can get a vaccine so I have to be able to buy it online.

Since your total budget is around $1000 you can buy a sebo e3 or a miele c3, or a sebo felix. These are all BIFL machines that have very good cleaning ability and filtration. They’ll all preform well on both carpet and hard flooring as the floor nozzle can be switch out.

Hello! My fiancé and i just moved into our first home. We are looking for a vacuum (or vacuums) that can fit our needs!! The home is 3 bed, 1.5 bath, and has tile, hardwood, and carpet flooring. The carpet is just in the living room and hallway. We have two dogs and two cats, so it must be able to handle pet hair like a champ. 
We were thinking about buying a robotic vacuum of some sort and a normal vacuum as well. We would like the robotic vacuum to help with the day to day hair loss and a normal vacuum to help with the bigger messes and deeper cleans. The budget for both is around $500. Thank you so much!

First home vacuum recommendations!

 The E3 SEBO and Miele C3 are designed to follow and move with you as if you had an electrical cord behind you. The maneuverability is better on those canisters.

TLDNR: Should I take back this brand new D4 foe the Miele complete C3 HomeCare+ power line? 

Ok here’s the deal, after researching a ton, I settled on getting the Miele C3 powerline home care+ because I really liked the super duper hepa filtration and especially that this model had almost all the controls in the handle. I really did not want to buy an expensive vacuum that required me to bend over while vacuuming to make adjustments etc. 
So I found a local dealer that makes home deliveries and got all excited because I wouldn’t have to go to the store. He tells me that the model I like is a good choice, but after checking his stock, it’s on back order, they’re not going to have them until July and that “if we don’t have it, nobody will”. He told me that the Sebo D4 is just as good, almost equal filtration, and that the warranty is better, has longer cable, bags are cheaper and better because there is a cap on the bag, and that because the bag capacity is larger, I won’t need to change bags as often. I asked about the controls and he said it’s in the handle, with main switch in the canister. He also mentioned that their store does free yearly maintenance for customers.  Anyway I got all excited and bought it over the phone without doing more research. They were kind enough to throw in a bunch of additional, attachments, another longer hose, 8 pack of bags, AND delivered to my home within a couple of hours. So, suffice it to say that the customer service was excellent and I appreciated the extra freebies. 

I’ve only used he D4 twice so far and although the vacuum works great, I’m not liking a few things.
1. I’m not crazy about having to bend over and manually change the brush head height on he ET-1 power head. 
2. The canister end of the hose only rotates 320 or 340 degrees instead of 360 deg  so it gets caught up sometimes and I have to reposition the canister. 
3.  There’s no straightforward on and off switch on the handle. There’s a + and -  , which you have to toggle all the way down until it goes into standby, which is just a teeny bit annoying when I just want to turn it off quickly without having to bend over and hit the main power button on the canister. It’s not a huge deal but still worth mentioning. 
4. Although it’s definitely a solid built machine and I like the sturdy feeling, it is a teeny bit heavy when I’ve had to carry it up the stairs. I haven’t used the Miele so I’m not sure how it compares but just looking at the specs, it looks like the Miele is lighter. 
5. It’s a very simple machine. There’s one main power button on the canister, and the aforementioned + - on the handle to control suction or put it on standby. 
I wouldn’t mind the extra features the Miele has as far as control options (different modes for various surfaces, a quiet mode)
6. This one is a bit shallow but the sebo is a bit bulky looking as well, while to me the Miele looks like a prettier machine.

For the price, I wouldn’t mind something good looking that’s a little more feature rich. 

Questions: 
1.  Does the Miele hose rotate at the canister end or is it fixed? If so, how much? 

2. Is the slight price difference between the sebo D4 and the Miele c3 powerline homecare+, worth it for the extras and especially for not having to bend over?

3. What is the difference in weight between those 2? 

4. The door that holds the onboard attachments for the Miele, is it prone to breaking?

5. How often do parts need to be replaced in the Miele because I’ve heard that is very expensive compared to the Sebo D4. For example, I’ve seen a dealer YouTube video stating that the flap to release the power head breaks often and is very expensive to replace.

6. How much of a pain in the butt is it to clean the brush roller of the Miele powerheads. The aforementioned YouTube dealer said to that the ET1 for the d4 is much easier to clean and can be done at home where as some vacuum service techs even refuse to work on a Miele Powerbeats because it’s so annoying. 

7. How are to the edge does the Miele power head have suction. Form the video I saw, there’s a thick wall, the brush part of the roller doesn’t extend all the way to this wall,  and the dealer said that the Sebo art-1 will be better for vacuuming closer to the edge of the head Bc the side walls are thinner.  

8. The Et-1 has a nice rubber bumper right in front of it and when I accidentally ran it into a door frame, neither the door bore the head has any marks let alone a scuff. Does the Miele power head have any such padding? 

9. How flat can you get the Miele power head to go under furniture and what’s the difference in length from handle to end of power head when it’s fully extended between D4 and Miele c3. I ask because I was having a tough time getting the sebo to go all the way to the wall Uber my queen bed (going across horizontally)without kind of gettin under the bed a little bit.

I keep having a nagging feelin that I should return the D4 and just wait for the homecare+ to be in stock. But the warranty, potential cost of parts, and issue with the brush heads is confusing me


Is the Miele worth the wait until July? The very nice vacuum dealer assured me they have a no questions/ no hassle 30 day return policy. They were so helpful I feel bad at the thought of having to return this vacuum.

On a side note, why has nobody done a side by side comparison of these specific models. I would love to see that.

Sebo D4 vs Miele complete c3 HomeCare+ powerline

Personally I think you would be much better off with a corded vacuum still especially that size house. Getting something like a SEBO E3 or D4  or a Miele c3 would suit your needs far better from what you described. Hey all, been doing a lot of reading in this sub. I currently have a dyson dc17 corded vacuum that's doing fine, probably about 8 years old now.  I also bought a refurbished dyson v7 stick vac refurbished a few years back and it's been okay too.  It definitely does not clean as well as the upright, and its dustbin is tiny.  It also only lasts maybe 4 minutes on max power.  

I am interested in buying a quality vacuum that ideally is cordless.  Been looking at the hoover onepwr hepa+ which seems to get good reviews here.  My concern is, how would it compare in power for deep cleaning/agitation vs. my dyson?  I like the concept of having a bagged vacuum (I've been taking to emptying the dysons outside because it's impossible to contain the dust).  3000 sq ft house which is 90% carpet, 3 floors (sadly no hose on the hoover for stairs but I can still use my stick for those).  I also have a dog that seems to never stop shedding short hair.

For those of you who have the hoover and a quality corded, is there a significant difference in cleaning power?  Will the hoover leave me with nice fluffy carpets with beautiful lines?  Or do you guys think cordless power isn't quite there yet?

Do upright cordless vacuums have enough power yet?

 It's not, it's a filter, but what it does is it. It provides additional filtration on top of whatever the bag is providing initially. So a hepa bag is designed to provide 99.99 filtration

 That's one of the the most obvious places that a power nozzle might break just because of the overall wear and tear that particular place uses. Having that reinforcement means you don't have to replace that near as often. The second thing is going to be you'll notice that on the bottom of the machine you've got a height adjuster right here. It's a dial that allows you to be able to raise and lower the head so you've got four different settings

 This, you'll only change maybe once every three to five months. It's just not something you'll have to do on a regular basis, largely because the majority of your of the dirt and so forth is going to get trapped by the bag itself. But this is always nice just because it prevents that from being. You know, having any additional allergens or stuff like that in the air there, so this just tucks back in place

 You know whenever you want. It basically is what you're looking at there. So and then the other side of it is it has additional filtration on the back here. What you do is you squeeze this opens up and this is actually it looks like a second bag

SEBO Airbelt E3 Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I have just a regular dust allergy and I find the S-Class filters to be very good so I would go with a Sebo E3 because I like the design improvements of the E Series over the K Series. Hope that helps.

I have been trying to decide between Miele and Sebo. Can anyone clarify if Sebo's S filtration is superior to HEPA filtration? I've read different things in different places. 

I have a small home with hardwoods and low to medium pile throw rugs. Even though I don't have carpet now, I only want to buy once and not need to buy something new if I move into a different home with carpet so I'm interested in something with a power head. I am drawn to Sebo since maintenance is easier but I want the best filtration possible. I'm wondering if I should go with the Sebo K3 and add a HEPA filter. Thoughts?

What's superior: S or HEPA filtration?

Miele C3 Kona canister $899-999, Sebo E3 canister $999, and Sebo Felix upright $649-699. All of these are strong performing and well built durable vacuums that can do hard floors and almost any type of carpeting because all 3 have electric powered heads that you attach when cleaning carpet. I'd say the Sebo Felix is pretty easy to live with it's an upright and just goes where you point it.

budget: whatever (I guess I don't want to spend more than $1k but I'm willing to invest in a BIFL-style cleaner!)

flooring: mainly vinyl/hardwood; around 30% is low-pile/flatweave rugs with another 10% mid-pile

additional needs: none! (no pets, no allergies)

my inclination is to go with a stick vacuum simply because I'm a single guy in a relatively small space, but from a few of the posts I read it seems like y'all are pretty against stick vacuums for various reasons. you most definitely know more than I do about vacuums, so I'm willing to trust your judgment!
