It's super easy. And with these units, SUPER important, as everything in the water tank turns into tiny particles and goes out into your air. Just move the entire unit to a bathroom or kitchen counter. Measure out 2 cups of distilled vinegar, and let it soak in the unit for 20 minutes (instructions included)

I own Honeywell HEPA Air Cleaners and Austin Air. During the wildfire smoke that invaded my home despite closed windows and doors I did not find these two to help as much as I'd hoped. Well, the Austin seemed to have a better filter by comparison, but both were loud and I was still reacting with asthma with all the "wind" created by the two units. Bought this because of the size (much smaller than the other Honeywells) but the machine makes a lot of water splashing noise throughout the night. Shortly after I bought this one, we bought a Levoit humidifier that is cheaper, quieter (no water noises), and easier to use (too fills so no spilling when picking the tank up or putting it in place). I would not recommend this product and would opt for the Levoit one if I could!

There is now, at least, one room in the apartment where I can breathe without complications. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to dish out for 2-3 more of these to fill the apartment unit with, so I'll likely be keeping one of these and returning the other (and moving out!). Though, speaking of funds, you can find these off Amazon for almost half the price advertised on the AirDoctor website if you just search around a bit.

I bought this humidifier in an effort to help with my severe dry eye. I keep it on at my bedside all day. Noise level is ok, it does bubble and gurgle a bit, but I find it kind of soothing. Its stylish and a little bigger than expected, but that isn't a bad thing, I just didn't look at the dimensions before buying
