 It's been in the fire, so I want to cut in half so I'm gonna see if I can get through this little hatchet. So this wood is pretty hard. It's been toughened up by that fire, but it's getting through it pretty well. There you go, so not too bad

 so there's a considerable amount of metal going through this handle which gives it a decent amount of weight for the little hatchet that it is which helps in splitting and just giving it a good swing, kind of adding some power. Um, let's see downsides. The one thing I haven't liked is the this rough casting or whatever this line is here. If you're ever using this thing to pound stakes or hammer nails like I actually do a lot with this thing out here at our camp, this ridge actually follows all the way to the back here

I live in Pennsylvania, have a very small yard. I want it to be small but also nice, and I want to mow with a manual reel mower. I had a 14" scotts, but it only cuts up to 2 1/4", which after a year or using it (and speaking with a local landscaper) I felt it was too short.

It cuts down the weight and leaves you with virtually no reverberation (that not-so-fun tingle in your hands) if you happen to have a bad swing. For the backpackers out there, I consider this an essential item when I do any overnight expeditions, so the weight is a huge plus
