 But I found the solution myself, and the drive works fine. Yes, can get hot, but I am not a super heavy duty user.  Attached is the speed test I did compared to my XPS15 9570 internal (Toshiba) SSD. The XTRM Q 1TB is very fast! If Sabrent had reasonable tech support, I would give 5 Stars

I use the product with mini USB cooling fan (photo). For tough work it helps to avoid overheating (in this case, it consumes USB and thunderbolt outlet). Performance indicated was obtained hooking to thunderbolt-4 notebook. For stable connection with windows, recommend most updated version

  With this drive I am seeing 2,200 Read speeds and 186.7 write. I TURN OFF the W10 caching in the Device Manager. I want my drives to push the data through right away, even if it appears slow, not have MS play games using my system memory and cache to make the drives SEEM faster

 Bought a cheap shell (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SSRT9RZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for my MBP and velcroed this drive and some cable management guides to the shell and now I have an extra TB of storage.  This thing is screaming fast! I copied 100gb in a couple of minutes

 Not a bad compromise as I at least don’t have to have any software just to do that at start up.

New home appliance

 After setting this as the default storage for the console, I installed several games with no issues. Installs were fairly quick, with the exception of downloads taking their time for digital games or in my case, updates after installing the disk version. This memory has good speed and having used a Samsung SSD as a computer boot drive for years, I know the memory is reliable. The memory also has a good 5-year warranty, which may get tested in a console

 I do think these are a bit pricy even on sale, but if you play a lot of console games, a necessary purchase.  4 stars

No issues with my PS5 install.

will i recommend it to a friend? no!  do your research and find out which other pcie4.0 m.2 drives beat this one and buy literally any of those.

will you get the advertised speeds? yes for a while till you run out of that single layer cache.  

How to ruin a great product line

And just to address the elephant that I’m sure somebody will try to let into the room - yes this case has the completely new PCIe riser in it. No fire risk included.
