Shame for such an expensive grinder. The replacement assemblies part Number is BT-S057 but costs around 200$. I noticed quite a few reviews on those parts stating they are quiter then the original. I suppose those are just worn out gears and the customer got used to the louder noise over time. So it is definetly a widespread problem.

Baratza either sells parts to repair the grinders or repairs grinders themselves for everything they sell. While there may be parts that break they are typically replaceable for reasonable cost, even grinders that they haven't sold for years.

Have the entry model in that line for about a litte over 2 years. Same issue. A really poor design. A minor plus that the company is selling parts but shelling out 130€ every two years buying a new gearbox isn't viable
