Stress Points
I got this TUMI Latitude carry-on about two years ago. I didn't pay the MSRP of $800 - I got it through a credit card promotion and ended up paying about $200 - still a lot of money for a carry on.

I bought the bag, because I had heard so many great things about TUMI and their lifetime warranty. I figured it was BIFL.

I posted over in r/WellThatSucks and there was a lot of explanations about the diminishing quality of TUMI bags, and I now see that. I also got a lot of recommendations for BIFL luggage.

I emailed and found that they will indeed repair the bag - hopefully under their new (non-lifetime warranty). But I have to pay to ship it back to them - which will be $30-$50. I figured I could just take it into a TUMI store (here in Chicago), but when I called them, they told me I STILL have to pay the return shipping for the bag. I think this is a really bad policy, and I'm debating whether or not I will even have the bag repaired at this point (and put the shipping money towards a real BIFL carry on).

I'll note that I did not overload this bag. I was going on a short trip - it was not overstuffed, and I was not abusing the bag. I went to grab it off the security belt, and the handle just came off in my hand.
