Maytag Dishwasher
Early Failure
Owned for 2 years, used
- Stress Points
- Top control panel buttons are designed to fail. They are momentary switches, but the plastic "spring" in them is designed with a thin spot, which breaks within a couple years. The panel can be disassembled, and you can rig a fix with duct tape or another springy material behind the buttons, but to fix "properly" you need to buy an entirely new panel for nearly $200.
Also the soap tray door breaks, which means you can only toss in your soap instead of having it release in timely manner. - Positive Remarks
- Absolutely no positive remarks. Upon disassembly, studying the control panel components, and some research AND their marketing and replacement parts, it's obvious this was an intentional failure point with a very high profit margin replacement, which is extremely wasteful in numerous ways.
