This a good solution for a front tie-down for a canoe where one cannot find a good bumper or undercarriage location for an eye bolt. My reduction to 4 stars is because you can find another brand of the same item cheaper than the Thule.

Simple! Great and easy to use. However, for our 2015 Subaru Outback, the straps should be longer. In order for the rear hatch to close, the tube end has to be placed rather far into the vehicle. Still, all told, these are awesome.

Pretty handy lil thing, but I am still a little concerned when I see the hood all cockeyed and not seating properly when this is installed. Doesn't seem to be causing any permanent deformation, yet.
