It is a solid knife for a certain niche. There is a reason. It is a much loved model from protech, but it's not gon na be for everybody either right

Bottom: Rotring 600 ballpoint. Yes I actually carry the Protech daily. No it's not practical in any way.

It comes with a few test kits and is easy to use. No complaints and much cheaper than the alternatives

I have a CRKT Ripsnort sitting between a Microtech LUDT and Protech TR3X1 in my collection, it's my: "best knife ever in the history of everything" knife. It was an inaugural father's day gift from my GF/son.

(I don’t always abide by this but this one is for playin it safe). Protech TR3. I hadn’t had a side opening auto since the flea market special stilletos when I was a kid.

For me it was the Para 2 and Protech SBR. I think both are kinda expensive and funny looking but the para 2 action and capability makes it an insane all around do everything knife. And the SBR is the most perfect ergos on a little knife so have ever handled. Just the right size and shape.

I’m really liking it so far, looking forward to finding a final configuration. Knives are two Protech automatics (BR1, BR2), two Chris Reeves (Umnum, small Sebenza) and two Hinderers (XM-18s).

Finally, after searching and purchasing one and then it being a week late my NKD is here, the protech Malibu, and to say it lives up to all the hype would be an understatement. And a cool side note this is #111

Protech Malibu is my beater. 20CV blade that won't dull easily and great build quality so I don't worry about it failing in any way.
