Id go with a smaller APS-C camera like the a6600, Fujifilm XT30 II, Nikon Z50, Nikon ZFC, Fujifilm XE-4, etc. That camera is really big, really expensive, and when you optimize your photos to 72ppi to see on a computer (especially a phone) you’ll probably be hard pressed to figure out if you used a smart phone. My 10 year old Nikon D7000 (which has an APS-C sensor) can print a 15x20 image without major quality reduction - the A7R IV has 3.9x more resolving power *and* a larger sensor. Trust me OP getting an A7R IV for family portraits is like buying a Ford/Hennessy F-150 Velociraptor for when it snows - but you live in Ohio.

I'm buying my first DLSR camera, for hobby and learning photography, and I am planning to buy the used Nikon D7000. There are two deals, both D7000 with 18-105mm kit lenses. The first one is 300$ and has 35,000 shutter counts (overall in pretty good condition, used for family photos).
