20 bucks for an uncracked Le Creuset dutch oven is getting away with murder. A quick scrub with Barkeepers Friend and a sponge will take away most of the inner smear. Well done.

The first time I used this, I cleaned it and dried it thoroughly and was disappointed to find rust had appeared near the top of the oven. No experience with staub but you probably can’t go wrong either way. We’ve had a Le creuset Dutch oven for over ten years and it’s in perfect shape. We expect it to last forever. Just needs a good cleaning every now and then to remove some staining.
