Hi trying to decide which Muck boots to get. I’m a laborer in a municipality. I’m working on the back of a trash truck couple days a week, do general work orders such as clearing storm drains, highway work etc, snow removal etc. 

I live in South Jersey. In the summer obviously it’s hot and humid, winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall depends. 

Looking for a Muck boot that could be worn all year round. In the spring summer basically looking for protection from the rain and mud and in the winter looking for protection from snow, rain and will keep my feet warm. 

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Which Muck Boots for Work as a Laborer

Currently, I own a pair of classic black Vans that I have been wearing every day, on the trail, on mountains, in snow, and just all around in urban environments as well. I have had them for over 2 years now and have walked 15+ miles in a day with them before and just learned to deal with foot pain. So basically any shoe is going to be an upgrade.

I kinda narrowed it down to Allbirds vs. Tropicfeel shoes just because they fit the “wear all day every day anywhere + only one shoe for travel” I’m looking for plus they don’t look like trail runners and I can wear them casually as well.

I am not sure which one to go with. My criteria are the following:

- Durability (I buy shoes once every 2-3 years so they need to MINIMUM last that long through all the shit I put them through - mud, rocks, dirt, water, etc)

- Usage type (can I hike in them? Can I wear them for 12+ hours a day? Can I run/walk/workout in them?)

- Water resistance/proofing (Im in the mountains and snow a lot and with my vans I just carry an extra pair of socks but it would be amazing if I didnt have to lol)

- Cleanability (My shoes are ALWAYS dirty and I never really care but it would be really nice to quickly be able to clean them so I can wear them without tracking mud into people’s houses lol)

- Comfort and look - im assuming both of these are good in this area so these aren’t necessarily deal breakers for me (unless someone can tell me otherwise) because like I said, anything is going to be an upgrade from the current old vans I’m rocking

If anyone has both or even has an opinion on one of them, I’d love to hear your thoughts (or if any other shoes fit these criteria that you know of).

EDIT: Overwhelming feedback thanks guys! I think I’m looking at going with a pair of Lems Boots but not sure if it looks casual enough for every day use. Did not like the look of the trailhead otherwise that would’ve been the decision. Thanks again!
