I hope everyone is doing well today...i am looking for an espresso machine and grinder for my mobile/market coffee shop. I have been looking at a couple of grinders and the one that interests me the most is the Baratza Sette 270. For the espresso machine, I have been looking at the Profitec pro 600, Breville Dual Boiler BES920XL, Rancilio Silvia Pro Espresso Machine, LUCCA A53 Mini Espresso Machine by La Spaziale. As of right now, I'm leaning towards the Profitec pro 600, Rancilio pro, and the Lucca A53.

although having trouble getting a really fine grind for espresso- just did 2 shots with it on the finest setting, but it didn't choke the machine, and brewed i n the right time=- that should happen up around the 5-7 mark- but it might be the beans I'm using right now- The bag claimed they were roast...

I love my Sette. Perfect grind every time. My only complaint if I had to complain would be that it’s loud. Like witches boiling in oil loud. If they figure out how to get the noise levels down it would be near perfect imo

Too much to clean up after dosing. Adjusted unit to fit my portafilter and still srays out the grounds.

And as for the Ode, it’s $300 and doesn’t even grind for espresso. I can’t speak for the quality of the Niche and DF64, but they’re both $50-100 more expensive than the Sette. You might be right when you say that there are better grinders, but at least with the examples you’ve given, I feel like they’re in different classes, perhaps in terms of quality, but also price.

I've had this grinder for a while now and the first thing that I found with it that almost made me send it back was how messy it is when dispensing the grinds to the portafilter. Left to it's own devices, and depending on various factors such as grind time, beans being used, and whether you're grind...

Honestly you should start a company to do this for all grinders that have huge ugly hoppers like the Baratza Sette 270 lol

Though noisy, this grinder is a pretty good upgrade if you’re getting serious about espresso. I upgraded from the Breville smart grinder pro that I bought years ago just for coffee. Shoot higher thank Dunkin...but you will get off to a good place with a Gaggia Classic Pro. That said, do NOT cheap out on a grinder. Get the Gaggia and a Baratza Sette 270 and you’ll have a great beginners setup.
